big sky community organization

Building a Livable Big Sky.

We build, steward, and protect the parks, trails, programs, and community spaces that keep Big Sky connected year-round. From open space to recreation and gathering places, our work makes this more than a place to visit — it makes it home.

about bsco

BSCO is a nonprofit organization created for service and leadership.

For more than 25 years, Big Sky Community Organization has built and cared for the parks, trails, programs, and shared spaces that shape daily life here. We listen to our community, plan with purpose, and follow through — protecting access, strengthening connection, and helping Big Sky remain livable for the people who call it home.

our Impact

What BSCO has built for Big Sky — so far.

Big Sky didn’t grow by accident — and neither did the spaces that bring us together. For more than 25 years, BSCO has built and stewarded the parks, trails, programs, and facilities that make this community livable year-round.

From connected trail systems and protected open space to youth programs and a community recreation center, our work is rooted in access, responsibility, and long-term thinking.

These numbers tell part of the story — but behind each one is a place, a program, and a community that shows up.

Trails That Connect Big Sky

From high alpine ridgelines to valley-floor pathways, our trails link neighborhoods, parks, and open space across the community. Built with intention and maintained year-round, they’re designed for hikers, bikers, runners, families, and anyone who wants to experience Big Sky on their own two feet.

The BASE Facility

BASE is where Big Sky comes to move.

Operated by BSCO, BASE is Big Sky’s year-round community recreation center — a place to work out, play hard, try something new, and connect with neighbors. From fitness classes and youth programs to leagues, climbing, and open gym time, BASE keeps the community active in every season.

Be Part of What Builds Big Sky

The parks, trails, and programs that shape this community don’t happen on their own. They happen because people show up. Whether you lend a hand on trail day or invest as a community sponsor, your involvement helps keep Big Sky connected, accessible, and thriving.
