Hummocks Trail
Located just outside Town Center, Hummocks offers quick access with a true mountain feel. The route alternates between open meadow sunlight and forest shade, with views toward the Spanish Peaks and Lone Mountain. You may hear occasional road noise near lower sections, but solitude can still be found.
Wildlife sightings may include moose, elk, or bear — carry bear spray and remain aware of your surroundings.
In winter, Hummocks becomes a multi-use ungroomed trail enjoyed by fat bikers, snowshoers, hikers, and backcountry Nordic skiers. Significant traffic often creates a firm, packed surface.
Fat bike, snowshoe, and Nordic ski rentals are available at nearby retailers including Gallatin Alpine Sports, Christy Sports, and East Slope Outdoors.
