Where it started — and where we’re headed
BSCO began when a group of locals recognized what Big Sky needed most: places to gather. What started as an idea became the foundation of our community’s outdoor identity. Over the years, that idea grew into miles of trail, acres of protected parkland, youth programs, recreation leagues, and BASE — a community center built to serve Big Sky in every season.

Building and caring for the spaces that serve Big Sky
We plan, build, and steward the parks, trails, programs, projects, and facilities that keep Big Sky connected year-round. From protecting public access and maintaining open space to operating BASE and leading long-term community initiatives, our work supports the health, resilience, and everyday life of this place we call home.

Protecting Public Access
As Big Sky grows, we work to protect and strengthen public access to parks, trails, programs, and shared facilities. From connected trail systems to purpose-built community spaces, we ensure outdoor recreation remains open and available for everyone who calls this place home.

Where Everyone Can Participate
Through youth programs, recreation leagues, BASE offerings, and outdoor initiatives, we expand opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate. Inclusion isn’t a tagline — it’s how we build community.

Supporting Community Well-Being
Well-being starts with connection — to nature, to movement, and to one another. Our parks, trails, programs, and projects create the physical and social spaces that support both mental and physical health year-round.

Earning Community Confidence
Community leadership requires consistency. We invest in partnerships, communicate transparently, and follow through on projects — earning trust through action, not promises.

Caring for What Connects Us
We lead with integrity, collaboration, and long-term thinking. Every decision — from maintaining trails to planning major projects — reflects our responsibility to care for Big Sky today while preparing for what tomorrow requires.

The values behind every decision.
The parks we build, the trails we maintain, and the programs we operate don’t happen by accident. They’re shaped by a clear set of values that guide how we lead, how we serve, and how we plan for Big Sky’s future. These principles keep our work focused, transparent, and rooted in community.

Showing Up With Integrity
We show up as real people serving a real community. Our work is grounded in honesty, transparency, and respect — the kind that is earned through consistent, reliable action. At BSCO, authenticity means telling the truth, listening deeply, and building trust through stewardship of the places our community depends on.

Leading Through Action
We lead by doing. Whether building trails, operating BASE, or planning the future of Big Sky’s parks, we take responsibility for guiding this community toward a healthier, more connected future.
Our leadership comes from showing up, solving problems, and doing what’s right even when it’s hard or behind the scenes.

Working With Intention
Everything we build, maintain, and protect serves a clear purpose: helping Big Sky remain accessible, livable, and connected. We focus on solutions that make a meaningful impact today and shape a better future for generations to come.
Purposefulness guides our decision-making, directing both our daily operations and long-term vision for Big Sky.
