about this trail

Kircher Park Trail

Kircher Trail is a 0.6-mile round-trip nature walk connecting Lone Peak Trail to Kircher Discovery Park in Big Sky’s Meadow Village. This easy out-and-back trail offers quick access to a quiet riverside sanctuary featuring fishing access, picnic tables, open green space, and a tree fort play structure.

The trail begins off the paved Lone Peak Trail near the intersection of Lone Mountain Trail and Little Coyote Road. From there, a short descent along a well-maintained natural surface path leads into the park. While the trail is accessible for most walkers and strollers, be prepared for the moderately steep embankment climb on your return.

Once in Kircher Discovery Park, visitors can stroll along the South Fork of the West Fork of the Gallatin River, enjoy a picnic, or cast a fly for small trout in this peaceful tributary of the Gallatin River. The setting feels tucked away despite being just steps from shops, restaurants, and neighborhoods.

Kircher Trail is a popular stop for families, guests, and anyone looking for a quiet break along a longer walk or bike ride through Meadow Village.
