Seasonal Fitness Instructor

The Seasonal Fitness Instructor brings energy, expertise, and community spirit to the BASE Community Center by leading engaging group fitness classes that inspire people to move and connect with themselves and others. Instructors have the opportunity to teach classes they are passionate about—whether it's strength training, yoga, cycling, dance, mobility, or another specialty—while ensuring programming aligns with BSCO's mission of building a healthier, more connected Big Sky. This role helps create a welcoming and inclusive fitness experience where participants of all abilities feel supported, challenged, and excited to come back.

The Seasonal Fitness Instructor is responsible for teaching group fitness classes at the BASE Community Center.  This role focuses on what BSCO delivers on a daily basis, ensuring classes are high-quality, community-driven, and aligned with organizational goals.

JOB DETAILS

Education, Experience, Preferred Skills & Background

Fitness or Personal Training Certification

CPR/Firstaid/AED Certification, preferred

Successfulcompletion of a background check

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lead and actively participate in group fitness classes for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to demonstrate exercises, movements, and proper fitness techniques safely and effectively.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, lift, and move throughout the duration of a class.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and set up fitness equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, including weights, mats, resistance bands, and other class materials.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with participants in a group setting, including providing verbal instruction and feedback.
  • Ability to respond quickly to participant needs and emergency situations if they arise.
  • Ability to work in a physically active environment with varying noise levels and participant group sizes.
  • Ability to maintain energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism while leading multiple classes or events as scheduled.
  • Responsibilities & Functions

    Ensure classes deliver a high-quality, safe, and     engaging experience for participants.

    Ability to sub additional classes to promote teamwork     and class schedule consistency

    Hours and days of the week are variable and depend on participant demand.
